M. Mariette (Valois) Plourde, 73 of Haverhill, died Thursday, May 15, suddenly at home.
Born, raised and educated in Sorel, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Florida (Latour) Valois. She moved to the United States in 1961 and lived in Newburyport, Beverly, and Salem, before settling in Haverhill fifteen years ago.
Mrs. Plourde was employed as a nurse’s aid in various nursing homes throughout the north shore for many years, retiring in 1996. She leaves a son, Jonathan Plourde, of Boston, a daughter, Natalie Murphy, of Westfield, three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
At the request of Mrs. Plourde, calling hours are omitted. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 20, at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Church, School St. Amesbury, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Amesbury. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhilll.
