      Joan Katherine Hart, 82

HAVERHILL, MA

Joan Katherine Hart, 82, died Tuesday, January 18, at the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center in Haverhill after a lengthy illness.                                                 

Born in Haverhill, MA on January 15, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Isabel (Murphy) Hart. She attended Haverhill Public Schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1946.

Upon her graduation from Haverhill High, Joan went to work as a Line Worker for Western Electric, working 35 years before retiring in 1993. A member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Joan was also a member of St. James Parish in Haverhill. She was a doting aunt who absolutely loved spending much time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, never forgetting a Birthday, Holiday, or Anniversary. Joan will be sadly missed buy those who loved and knew her, but her memory will live on with them forever.                                

Joan is survived by seven nephews, including her devoted caretaker, William J. “Bud” Hart of Haverhill, Michael J. Hart of Haverhill, Joseph Hart, of Haverhill, David R. Hart, of Haverhill, Thomas Hart, of Haverhill, George Lennon, of Haverhill, and James Henneberry of  CT, four nieces, Mary P. (Hart) O’Keefe, of Arlington, MA, Bernadette (Hart) Cote, of Tolland, CT, Judith (Henneberry) McGill, of CT,  and Jane (Henneberry) Dyer, of CT, as well as several great nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her two brothers, William J. Hart and Richard T. Hart, two sisters, Dorothy Lennon and Virginia Henneberry, and her nephew Kevin J. Hart.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Sunday, January 23, 2011, from 2 until 5 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011, at 9 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. James Church, Winter St., Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Primrose St., Haverhill. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. James Parish, 6 Cottage St. Haverhill, MA 01830.
