      James R. Suozzo, 53

James R. Suozzo, 53, of East Boston, died Wednesday, January 26, at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Winthrop, June 1, 1957, he was the son of the late, Wilfred Suozzo and Joyce E. Sullivan. He attended Boston public schools and Saugus high school.

For many years, Mr. Suozzo was a self employed marketing entrepreneur, involved in the pharmaceutical industry.

He leaves a daughter, Terese Suozzo Kacandes and her husband, Christopher, of Boxford, a son, James R. Suozzo Jr, of Everett, two granddaughters, Isabella and Lilianna Kacandes, aunts and uncle, Dorothy DeGruttola, of Saugus, Verna Sullivan, and James Sullivan and his wife, Ruth, of East Boston.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 3, at 10:00 AM, in St. Joseph-St. Lazarus Parish, 59 Ashely St. East Boston. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave. Meriden, CT 06450. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill.
