      Ann Estelle (Shaw) Bilodeau, 96

HAVERHILL, MA

Ann Estelle (Shaw) Bilodeau, 96, died Sunday, January 9 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House after a year of declining health.                                                             

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late, William T. and Florence (Carr) Shaw. Her family lived in Westville, NH a neighborhood in Plaistow. After her marriage the family moved to Haverhill. She attended the Pollard School and went on to graduate from Haverhill High School, Class of 1932.Mrs. Bilodeau was employed as an LPN at local nursing homes, retiring in 1979. An active woman all of her life except for the past  year, Mrs. Bilodeau was involved in her community, she was a member of the Women’s City Club, she was a founding member of the Plaistow  4 H Horse Club. An avid outdoors woman, she loved hunting, camping, fishing, and riding horses. She was a member of St. James church.                                                                                                           

The widow of Raymond A. Bilodeau, she leaves her daughter and son in law, F. Rita and Richard A. Groves, of Bradford, grandchildren, Laurie Knowles, Richard “Skip” Groves, Timothy Groves,  Patricia Lemire, Pierrette Bilodeau, Renee Mueller, Arthur Bilodeau, Yvette Nicol, Amanda Bilodeau, and Wanda Bilodeau, and Rick Melvin. Twenty-two great-grandchildren, and eighteen great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons, Raymond A. “Sonny” Bilodeau and Robert Bilodeau, a grandson Raymond Bilodeau III, and siblings, Norman, William, Samuel, Clayton, Ida Van Wart, Arlene Shaw, and Mabel Preston.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Friday from 4 until 7 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. James Church, Winter St. Haverhill. Burial will follow at Holy Angels Cemetery, East Road, Plaistow, NH. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 Merrimack St. Lawrence, MA 01843.
